You'll find red, white and blue all over Indiana this Fourth of July.

And while you may think Hoosiers are all about showing their national pride, a new report shows that may not be the case.

WalletHub.com looked at 13 key indicators to see which of the 50 states are most patriotic.

Indiana came in 40th overall with 42 out of a possible 50 points. Virginia topped the list, followed by Alaska, Wyoming, South Carolina and Colorado.

The study evaluated military engagement including the number of enlistees, veterans and active-duty members of the military.  Indiana came in 35th.

We came in 34th in civic engagement which measured adults who voted in the 2016 presidential election, adults who voted in the 2016 primaries, volunteer rate and hours, AmeriCorps volunteers, and trial and grand jury participation.

WalletHub's experts also found that red states (Republican) are a bit more patriotic than blue (Democrat) - 28.55 percent versus 23.47 percent.
