CLARKSVILLE, Ind. - A southern Indiana man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a 17-year-old girl has been formally charged.
Richard Hooten, 49, of Clarksville, was charged Wednesday with murder, rape, criminal deviate conduct, being a habitual offender and abuse of a corpse in the death of Tara Willenborg.
Clark County Prosecutor Steve Stewart said Willenborg's body was found in her bed early Saturday.
Hooten remains jailed without bond at the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville.
