INDIANAPOLIS - Road crews in the Indianapolis area worked into the early-morning hours Saturday to clear highways and streets of more than 5 inches of snow.
Conditions were difficult for the evening commute Friday, and crews were still working to clear the latest wintry mess early Saturday morning.
Most of the main roads in the Indianapolis area were much improved Saturday morning, but there were still challenges on the roads.
Travel advisories and watches were still in place early Saturday for nearly every county in central Indiana. Marion County was not among them.
While conditions were better in the Indianapolis area, INDOT indicated that interstates south of the city were still difficult to navigate.
Conditions are expected to keep improving during the day Saturday, ahead of the next round of wintry weather expected late Saturday evening and early Sunday.
