INDIANAPOLIS - State troopers launched an investigation Monday afternoon after a man’s body was found just off the interstate on the west side of Indianapolis. Tuesday, they determined he was not killed, but that there was another cause of death.
Indiana State Police (ISP) said at roughly 4:30 p.m. Monday, someone walking on the exit ramp from northbound Interstate 465 to Crawfordsville Road reported seeing a body just off the roadway. That’s near mile marker 17 on I-465.
ISP said the Marion County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene to investigate. An autopsy performed Tuesday showed the death was not a homicide, ISP said. The coroner said the man had a heart condition and his death is preliminarily being contributed to a medical condition, although a final ruling depends on toxicology results.
There is very little other information at this point as to the identity of the man.
