Indiana State Police traffic stop nets 35 pounds of pot

2 men arrested on several drug charges

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. - Two men were arrested on drug charges Tuesday after Indiana State Police found 35 pounds of marijuana in a truck during a traffic stop in LaGrange County.

Just before 9:30 a.m., an ISP trooper on routine patrol on Indiana East–West Toll Road 80/90 spotted a rental moving truck in a traffic violation.

After talking with the driver, the trooper became suspicious and called for another trooper with K-9 assistance.

When K-9 officer Sabre arrived, he alerted the troopers to the back of the truck.

After getting a search warrant, the troopers found individually wrapped packages of marijuana.

The driver, Robert Baldwin, 60, and his passenger, Jon-Michael Debettencourt, 32, both of California, were arrested on several drugs charges and taken into custody at the LaGrange County Jail.
