MORRIS, Ill. - An Indiana State Police officer was arrested Friday amid allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Trooper Isaac Martinez, a 5-and-a-half year veteran of ISP, was taken into custody just after 6 p.m. Friday evening in Morris, IL. Martinez had previously been placed on administrative leave with pay on Sept. 23.
According to a release, police received an anonymous complaint Aug. 28 regarding a state police officer engaging in a sex act with a 14-year-old female. An investigation of the complaint led to a warrant being issued for Martinez's arrest.
The warrant charges Martinez with three felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Martinez was taken to the Grundy County (Ill.) Jail while awaiting extradition to Marion County. Police said his bond was expected to be set at $30,000.
Extradition and initial arraignment are anticipated to occur sometime during the week of Oct. 13.
