INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Animal Care and Control director Dan Shackle resigned from his position Monday.
Shackle made the decision to leave on his own, reported RTV6's Jack Rinehart.
Meanwhile, Spencer Moore, father of slain Indianapolis Metro Police Department Officer David Moore , was named interim director.
In Jan. 2014, Shackle was suspended from his position for two days for misconduct, Call 6 Investigator Kara Kenney Reported.
Department of Public Safety Director Troy Riggs said Shackle "did a good job" and did not comment on what may have prompted Shackle's decision.
Spencer Moore is a retired IMPD officer and had previously served as the director of the IACC in the 1990s.
