Indianapolis Animal Care and Control holds pet supply drive held in Ofc. Rod Bradway's honor

Bradway killed in the line of duty

INDIANAPOLIS - Animal advocates planned to hold a pet supply drive Wednesday in honor of fallen Indianapolis Metro Police Department officer Rod Bradway.

Bradway was killed in the line of duty last Friday when he responded to a domestic situation at an apartment complex on the city's west side.

Indianapolis Animal Care and Control organizers said Bradway actively worked with animal rescue groups. Most recently, Bradway and his wife collected and hand-delivered pet supplies to Moore, Okla. victims who were hit by a tornado in May.

Because helping pets was a cause close to Bradway's heart, IACC asked for donations to be made in his honor Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the City Market East Plaza.

The group is accepting dog and cat food, treats, cleaning supplies, pet toys and kitten formula.
