Indianapolis denies 2 taxi company license renewals
City: Companies failed to comply with guidelines
INDIANAPOLIS - The license renewals of two taxi companies were denied Monday because of what the Department of Code Enforcement called their "failure to comply with various requirements and obligations."
Officials said they are concerned that A-United Taxi and Broad Ripple Village Taxi may continue to operate, despite the license denial.
"This should have no noticeable effect on the availability of taxi service," said Adam Baker, communications director for DCE.
The agency released pictures of the cabs in question so that people can more easily identify them.
DCE asked that anyone who sees the cabs in operation call them at 317-327-TAXI.
