INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis firefighters were kept busy early Sunday battling fires at a vacant home and vacant business.
The first fire broke out just after 12:30 a.m. at a building in the 2800 block of North Delaware Street.
Firefighters found flames pouring from the boarded-up building when they arrived. Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 45 minutes.
Neighbors told fire crews that the building had been vacant for several years.
A separate fire at a home in the 1100 block of North Hamilton Avenue sparked about 2:30 a.m.
Firefighters had a difficult time battling that blaze over the course of two hours.
Investigators said the same home had burned once before and that firefighters knew the home was unsafe.
There were no injuries in either fire.
Damage to the home was estimated at $100,000.
