INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis girl is about to embark on the trip of a lifetime as she heads to the White House to share her favorite recipe with First Lady Michelle Obama.
Sophie Mckinney Han, 10, is one of 54 finalists who will join Mrs. Obama for a lunch featuring healthy recipes.
Sophie said she's excited to go to Washington, D.C. and to have Mrs. Obama taste her Healthy Coconut Chicken.
"If you don't eat healthy enough you're not going to turn out as right and you won't get the energy to go out and stay active," she said.
Mom Katherine Mckinney Han said that her daughter learned to cook under her watchful eye.
"It's one of the first bigger entrees that she learned to cook on her own or with one of us so that's what makes it special," she said.
Sophie's recipe won her the trip and she hopes to take home first prize.
"I didn't really memorize (the recipe) quite yet. I'm still trying," Sophie said.
