INDIANAPOLIS -- Five of Indiana's top ten high schools are in the Indianapolis area, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Number two in the magazine's rankings is Zionsville Community High School.  Herron High School in Indianapolis is ranked fifth, followed by Westfield High School in sixth. Carmel High School is ranked eighth and Hamilton Southeastern High School rounds out the top ten.

The number one high school in Indiana is Signature School in Evansville. Signature also came in 33rd in the overall national rankings. The charter school has a 100 percent graduation rate.

U.S. News & World Report bases its ranking on school performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college.
