INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis International Airport has been recognized as 2012’s best airport in North America by Airports Council International.
The recognition was made as part of the prestigious annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards for performance excellence.
The annual awards program identifies the most passenger-friendly airports throughout the world. Results are derived from ASQ’s year-round passenger satisfaction surveys conducted in gate areas.
Robert Duncan, executive director for the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said he credits the airport's employees for the honor.
“Being the best airport in North America wouldn’t be possible without world-class employees,” Duncan said. “I am proud of their dedication and I especially thank our front-line staff who greet our guests and keep our facilities clean, safe, and operational around the clock.”
Indy's airport was also named best airport in North America for 2010. It has been ranked in the top three airports in North America since that time.
