INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis man is accused of drunkenly assaulting a police officer and trying to grab the officer's genitals outside a downtown bar.
An off-duty Indianapolis officer was working security at Howl at the Moon on Georgia Street early Friday when a heavily intoxicated patron got into an altercation with the bar staff, according to a police report.
After asking the man to leave several times, the officer escorted him from the bar, according to the report.
That's when the man, who was later identified as Omar Pucar, 21, tried to hit the officer, prompting the officer to subdue him with pepper spray, police said.
After handcuffing Pucar, the officer stood him up to put him in a squad car, which is when the man tried to grab the officer's genitals, according to the report.
Pucar was injured as the officer pushed him back to the ground, police said.
He was checked out at the scene before being arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
