INDIANAPOLIS -- The Circle City was named the No. 2 city for recent college graduates, according to CNBC.

The study looked at three factors: the affordability of the city, number of other recent college graduates in the area and the availability of potential jobs.

Indianapolis was No. 2 overall, behind just Pittsburgh, Pa., and ahead of Kansas City, Miss., Minneapolis and Columbus, Ohio.

The bottom five of the top 40 rankings were: Sacramento, Calif., Portland, Ore., Anaheim, Calif., Los Angeles and Miami.

Indianapolis was No. 2 in affordability and No. 4 in job availability, but No. 21 in number of other college graduates.

The study was done by researchers at Trulia and LinkedIn.

"If you're a recent college grad, you're probably looking to move someplace with other young people to hang out with," said Ralph McLaughlin, Trulia's chief economist. "We see a similar pattern with older age groups where retirees like to cluster around each other. Recent college grads like to cluster around people their own age.
