INDIANAPOLIS -- Less than a year ago -- a community on the north side decided enough is enough after homicides in a matter of weeks.

The members set out to protect their neighborhood and now the Butler-Tarkington community is celebrating 200 days without a homicide.

Community members, the Ten-Point Coalition and authorities have teamed up to patrol the streets and perform outreach work.

"We're going to do our part to maintain as much peace as we can," Rev. Charles Harrison, leader of the Ten-Point Coalition, said.

Members say a lot still needs to be done, but seeing the progress serves as great motivation.
