INDIANAPOLIS - Hackers may be to blame for a delay in ISTEP testing across Indiana on Monday.
CTB/McGraw-Hill, which administers the test, reported that their system experienced a 13-minute interruption just before 11 a.m. due to a "denial of service attack against a separate internet application."
Indianapolis Public Schools initially said they would delay testing Monday because of the downtime, but testing continued when the online system came back up.
"Working with our network service providers, engineers quickly moved Internet circuits to filter and isolate the problem and ensure bandwidth was available to continue testing as quickly as possible," a statement from CTB read.
This is the third week of ISTEP testing.
