Indianapolis sees 8th homicide in 24 hours

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis police are reporting the city's eighth homicide in 24 hours after an autopsy concluded Friday.

IMPD officers were dispatched just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday to a home on the 2100 block of North Kenyon Street on the city's east side.

There, police found the body of 50-year-old Leroy Barker of Indianapolis.

An autopsy performed Friday determined Barker's cause of death as homicide, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

Police have not yet released suspect information or the manner in which Barker died.
