INDIANAPOLIS -- After an 11-month closure, the Skyline at the Indianapolis Zoo has reopened.

The ride has been closed since July 30, 2015, when eight people had to be rescued after it became stuck due to a mechanical issue.

The Skyline has 1,200 feet of track, rising 50 feet above the zoo. It initially opened in July 2014.

After the July 30 stoppage, the zoo hired a third-party firm to evaluate the Skyline. The Indianapolis Zoo has hired full-time mechanics with amusement park experience to work on the ride.
