INDIANAPOLIS -- Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Indianapolis Colts and Uber hosted a vigil Thursday night honoring Edwin Jackson, Jeffrey Monroe and Blair Edmonds.  The Colts linebacker and two Uber drivers were killed last Sunday in separate crashes involving suspected drunk drivers.

"There's no doubt in my mind that they're going to get justice. Then we can all move on," said Deborah Monroe, wife of Jeffrey Monroe.

Police believe Jackson, an Uber driver, stopped alongside I-70 to help Jackson, who had become ill.  They were struck and killed, police say, by Manuel Orrego-Savala. Savala has been charged with two counts of causing death when operating a motor vehicle with an ACE of .15 or more and two counts of failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

"Edwin is no longer physically here but his light still shines on. And we will make it our mission to keep his light shining forever," said Cora Asiana, Edwin Jackson's sister.

Just a few miles away, 29-year-old Blair Edmond, also an Uber driver, was killed in a separate crash involving a suspected drunk driver.

Police say a car driving eastbound on 46th Street crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a car traveling the opposite direction. Edmonds was driving the car that was hit.

His father says Edmonds just moved Indianapolis from Maryland three months earlier.

"I'm going to miss him dearly. I'm still in shock about all of us. I can't believe it happened," said Leo Best, Blair's father.
