Community scrambling to find solar eclipse glasses in Indy

Several places sold out of protective eyewear

INDIANAPOLIS – With less than a week away from the highly-anticipated solar eclipse, Butler University’s Observatory and several other places around the city have sold out of the protective eyewear.

Hundreds of people lined up on Butler’s campus Thursday to purchase solar eclipse glasses but found them to be sold out.

In need of glasses? Here are a few places to check

Walmart: Recommends calling ahead as they sell fast

Lowes: Most Indy locations are out and will not be getting more

Kroger: Check your local store for stock

The Indianapolis Library, Target, Meijer and Home Depot stores are not selling the glasses.
