INDIANAPOLIS -- A man accused of smashing the window out of a marked Indianapolis Metropolitan Park Ranger patrol vehicle and stole it from the VA Medical Center on Saturday has been arrested.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say Benjamin Anderson was captured on video smashing out the driver side window of the vehicle just after 9 a.m. and driving away.

The vehicle was recovered Saturday afternoon after a citizen spotted it in the 1100 block of Berwick Alley west.

Anderson, 34, was located by police a short distance from where the vehicle was recovered. He was arrested and preliminarily charged with burglary and posession of synthetic marijuana.

Anyone with information on this or any crime should contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
