INDIANAPOLIS -- About one in five female veterans say they've experienced military sexual trauma.

An art therapy class offered in Indianapolis is helping female vets find balance, emotional and mental growth.

"I feel more at peace with everything if that makes sense. It is not like all of a sudden it is better. But I have more tools and know what to do with it and I have support systems like this to get through the hard times and to be able to develop my repertoire of tools to get through those things as they come," said Heather, a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

"The art gives me something tangible to reflect on. I am a work in progress and it is not always stick figures and sometimes it is broken bowls. But it is really something that you can touch that means progress," said Beth Conley, U.S. Military Veteran.
