Indianapolis community donates water, food, personal care items to Harvey victims

INDIANAPOLIS – Members of the Indianapolis community, including organizations and media outlets, gathered Thursday to collect donations for Hurricane Harvey victims.

The effort Hoosiers Helping Houston collected bottled water, food and personal care items for those impacted by the Category 3 storm.

Donations will be collected from Thursday to Saturday at various locations, which you will find at the bottom of this story.

Several of the first responders in Indiana who assisted Hurricane Harvey victims were forced to make a quick turnaround to be of help to those in Florida who may be impacted by Hurricane Irma.

Indianapolis Power & Light was also sent to Florida to assist Duke Energy with efforts to restore power in Florida.

You can drop off the following supplies at the below listed locations:

  • Bottled water
  • Packaged snacks
  • Juice (non-glass containers)
  • Baby wipes
  • Diapers
