INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis City-County Councilor Jeff Miller, who was charged with child molestation, actively participated in a community meeting Tuesday night.
Miller, who has not resigned from his position despite the charges, attended the Carson Heights Neighborhood Association meeting at Apostolic Christian Church.
Carson Heights falls within District 16, where Miller is councilor.
Miller did not comment on his way into the meeting and did not answer questions of whether he plans to resign or whether he thinks he can effectively serve on council while facing criminal charges.
At the meeting, Miller discussed speed limits and crosswalks in the area.
This comes amid mounting calls for him to step down from every other Republican on the Council.
Investigators began looking into Miller after a 10-year-old girl came forward claiming he had massaged her and made her uncomfortable on more than one occasion.
The probable cause affidavit for the case details multiple conversations investigators had with children who frequented Miller’s home.
When asked by investigators about specifics involving the investigation Miller said he didn’t believe he had done anything wrong, but would not say the girls were lying.
Miller was elected to represent District 16 in November 2011 and re-elected in 2015.
