INDIANAPOLIS – More than 40,000 people will be fed this Thanksgiving during the Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving Day dinner event, but the organization has called on the community to help them reach their annual fundraising goal.

About $80,000 will be needed to hand out dinners on Thanksgiving Day, and Mozel Sanders still needs $50,000. They hope to raise the money during their radiothon held Saturday and Sunday at Castleton Square and Circle Centre malls.

“A lot of people have no idea of how many individuals actually go hungry every day of the year," said Cullen Simpson, Mozel Sanders’ volunteer executive chef. “For us to be able to have a presence on Thanksgiving Day, it means a lot."

In addition to the radiothon, those who would like to donate can do so by texting “mozel” to 313131. People in need of meals can make their request by calling (317) 636-7985.
