'Stock the Ambulance' collection happening this week

INDIANAPOLIS -- You can help keep Indianapolis safe in times of emergencies through the "Stock the Ambulance" drive happening this week.

Indianapolis EMS, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Indy Public Safety Foundation are partnering to keep ambulances full of supplies that get distributed in emergencies.

The drive takes place Nov. 13-Nov. 17 from noon until 6 p.m. Bring new or gently used coats, blankets, personal hygiene products, shampoo, conditioner, soap, washcloths and toothbrushes to the following locations:

IMPD North District, 3120 East 30th Street on Monday
IEMS Headquarters, 3930 Georgetown Road on Tuesday
Family Dollar, 1017 East Morris Street on Wednesday
IMPD East District, 201 North Shadeland Avenue on Thursday
IMPD Southwest District, 551 King Avenue on Friday
