INDIANAPOLIS -- In what appeared to be a playful jab against Indiana Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly, President Donald Trump threatened to campaign against him next year if he didn't support the GOP tax reform plan.

At the event, Trump said that if Sen. Donnelly doesn't approve his plan, there will be consequences.
"We will come here and we will campaign against him like you wouldn't believe," Trump said with a laugh as he pointed out the senator in the crowd.

He followed the jab by saying he predicts that most Democrats will come across the aisle and support the plan "because it's the right thing to do."

The GOP plan calls for reducing the personal income tax brackets from seven to three, doubling the standard deduction for married and single filers, eliminating the estate tax and cutting the corporate tax rate up to 20 percent.
