WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ind. -- School officials want to know who vandalized several sports fields in Wayne Township over the weekend.

Superintendent Jeff Butts asked for help in identifying who drove through fields, including the Ben Davis Youth Football field and a soccer field.

“The seasons are over for the teams that use both fields, so they are going to see how the grass grows back before they do anything to the fields,” said Mary Lang, district spokesperson. “The ruts aren’t deep so it will just involve some reseeding.”

The fields are maintained by volunteers, so they may have to buy more seed next spring.

The district was unable to put a dollar amount on the damage to the sports fields.
