INDIANAPOLIS -- The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township is one of 49 urban school districts across the country considered “exemplary” when it comes to FAFSA completion.

FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form.

Wayne Township’s Director of College and Career Readiness, Wendy Skibinski, worked to create a partnership with an organization called INvestED, which helps students and their families with the college planning process.

“Our college and career readiness team held a series of informational and support sessions in the Ben Davis High School media center for students and their families to help them through the financial aid and college planning process,” said Mary Lang, spokesperson for MSD Wayne. “In addition, breakout sessions were held at the Westside College Fair to help students and their families plan.”

MSD Wayne also provided information and guidance on financial aid applications during homeroom periods, including helping seniors create their FAFSA ID’s.
