INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indiana teen who’s spent more than half of his life on dialysis now has new hope for the future after finding out his name has been added to the National Kidney Transplant list.
19-year-old Jac’Quel Jones had an unsuccessful transplant when he was younger and has spent the last 13 years on dialysis.
Doctors say he’ll likely live only six more years without a transplant, but Jones says he’s staying optimistic about getting a new kidney.
“A lot of kids probably couldn’t walk in my shoes from doing this,” said Jones. “That’s why I just stay to myself and I’m humble. That’s all I can say, I’m humble.”
Jones is currently at crisis level, which makes him a priority if a kidney becomes available anywhere in the United States.

He also has big plans when he finally gets his kidney.
"I want to see Kevin Hart and I wanna take a lot of trips," said Jones.
