MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - The state Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 65 in northwestern Indiana between Gary and Lafayette again.
INDOT spokesman Matt Deitchley says several hours after I-65 was reopened Monday afternoon, it was closed again because of deteriorating conditions, including blowing snow with zero visibility, snow drifts and icy surfaces. He says there is no estimate for when it will reopen.
Interstate 94, which had been closed earlier Monday between the Illinois state line and Michigan City, remains open.
