Indy coffee shop becomes Luke's Diner to celebrate 'Gilmore Girls' anniversary

INDIANAPOLIS -- For one day only, Bee Coffee Roasters transformed into Luke's Diner from the cult TV show Gilmore Girls.

Bee Coffee Roasters is one of 250 coffee shops across the country participating in the event celebrating the 16th anniversary of the first episode of the beloved show on Wednesday, October 5.

Netflix is launching a reunion mini-series called "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life."

Both locations of Bee Coffee Roasters at 5510 Lafayette Road and 201 S. Capitol Ave. became 'Luke's Diner' for the day, giving away 250 free cups of coffee. The no-cost offerings went fast, as fans lined up early in the day to catch a glimpse of the temporary redesign, and grab their morning caffeine in the process.
