Ferree's car left road, struck tree

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. - A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Shelby County on Monday evening, officials said.
Indiana State Police responded to the crash near the 6800 block of London Road just before 5 p.m.
A preliminary investigation and witness accounts revealed that Robert Ferree, 52, of Indianapolis, was driving northbound, when for an unknown reason, his vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.
The vehicle became engulfed in flames after the crash, police said.
Ferree was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner’s Office.
Witnesses told police that the vehicle was traveling 60 to 70 mph before the crash, officials said.
Police said no evidence of braking was discovered at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
