INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis radio stations are working together to help the Mozel Sanders Foundation raise funds to feed homeless Hoosiers.
Radio One stations WTLC, WHHH and WNOU, will host the Feed The Hungry Radiothon on Friday to benefit the 41 st Annual Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving Day Dinner.
Food and monetary donations will be accepted Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lafayette Square Mall and Circle Centre Mall.
Event organizer Stephanie Sanders Young said the foundation expects to help feed 41,000 less fortunate Hoosiers this year.
"We are asking the city of Indianapolis to do what they have done for the last 41 years: come out and help us feed the hungry," Young said. "There are so many hungry people in the city of Indianapolis, and we are looking to raise about $80,000 this year."
The foundation said it also needs about 2,000 volunteers to help cook and deliver the meals.
