#INDYTODAY | Events for your Friday (July 18) and weekend in the Circle City

INDIANAPOLIS - Fantastic food, fun, and much more! There are tons of things to do this Friday and weekend in Indianapolis with #INDYTODAY. 

Every day, we'll keep you in the loop on happenings in Indy. For Fourth of July and this weekend, there are a quite few items on the to-do list that might tickle your fancy.

Food Truck Friday

Get some fresh spring air on your lunch break and head out to Georgia Street for the weekly tradition. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. head to the west block of Georgia Street to pick from more than 15 food trucks. Barbecue, pizza, cupcakes, Mexican food and more.

The food trucks are so good, Food Network show "Eat Street" visited Indianapolis to get the scoop on the amazing tastes offered.

St. Christopher Mid-Summer Festival

The 77th-Annual Mid-Summer Festival takes place through Saturday, with food, a casino, Pacers Fan Van, Colts Cheerleaders, and more!

Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration

The 44th-annual Summer Celebration hosted by the Indiana Black Expo is going strong. The event, which stretches till July 20, promises all sorts of fun (plus some business and job opportunities, too).

Another Food Truck

Georgia Street isn't the only spot to grab a quick bite at a food truck on your Friday lunch hour! Head to the Hoosier Lottery building Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for another food truck. The Hoosier Lottery building is located on North Meridian Street, just north of I-65 (right next to the RTV6 building).

This week, it's Taste of Heaven, which has a little something for everyone who loves comfort food. Menu items include: quesadilla burger, buffalo chicken wrap, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, chicken tenders, fries and more.

Farm To Fork Market

Looking for some chemical-free food? Head out to the Farm to Fork Market at Normandy Farms between 4 and 7 p.m. Friday. It's open every week, rain or shine, and is located on the city's northwest side.

The summer concert series kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the Indianapolis Zoo. Enjoy live music, great specialty food stations and animal exhibits. Buy your tickets in advance here.

Georgia Street Happy Hour

Relax outdoors over a cocktail or beer and enjoy appetizers as live jazz fills the air. It all happens from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Boardwalk on Georgia Street.

Adults-Only Night at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis

The Children's Museum will be hosting the fun "Terra Cotta Warriors After Dark" event from 6 to 8 p.m. Come out and zip down the Great Wall Slide, enjoy cocktails and and have a bite to eat, all while exploring the museum exhibits. It's for those 21 and older.

Summer Film Screening

Head to the Indianapolis Museum of Art tonight and watch the screening of everyone's old favorite, "Hook." You're invited to bring a picnic, blankets and lawn chairs. The price is $10, but $6 for museum members. The gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie begins at 9:30.

Lots of fun for the kids this weekend

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is always chock-full of fun activities for the kids. This weekend, among many other activities, your kids can try rock climbing!  Plus, dinosaur fossils, Egyptian tomb treasures and more!
