#INDYTODAY | Events for Friday and the weekend in the Circle City

INDIANAPOLIS - Photography, Indy 500 and more. Here's the scoop on some events this Friday and weekend in Indianapolis with #INDYTODAY.

Every day, we'll keep you in the loop on happenings in Indy. Friday and Saturday, there are a couple items on the to-do list that might tickle your fancy.

Ansel Adams: A Lifetime Portfolio

An event for all photography fans. Ansel Adams: A Lifetime Portfolio kicks off Saturday at the Eiteljorg Museum. The celebrate, the museum is hosting a preview party beginning at 6 p.m. Friday. Party admission is $45 for museum members and $55 for non-members. The exhibit contains more than 80 of his best works and a live conversation with Adams' family members.

500 Festival Training Series

Pre-race packet pick-up for Saturday's 500 Festival Training Series will begin Friday at 10 a.m. Participants have until 2 p.m. to pick up their packets at downtown's 500 Festival building. For those who choose to pick up their packet before tomorrow's race, pick-up will be at 6:30 a.m. in the NCAA Hall of Champions.

Polar Bear Weekend at the Indianapolis Zoo

It's officially zoo season! Come out and purchase in-season tickets, valid until the end of October, at the Indianapolis Zoo. The zoo has many things in store, including Saturday and Sunday's Polar Bear Weekend. Visitors will get to know the largest on-land carnivore!

Celebration for Black Heritage stamp honorees

The U.S. Postal Service and the Madam Walker Theatre are holding a special event. As part of Black History Month's last day, the theatre is holding a celebration for Black Heritage stamp honorees Shirley Chisholm, Althea Gibson and Madam C.J. Walker.

Underground Railroad Re-enactment Experience

The historically accurate re-enactment experience will highlight Bethel A.M.E. Church's involvement with the Underground Railroad. Head to the church (414 W. Vermont St.) for the re-enactment at 8:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $15 for adults 18 and older, $7.50 for ages 7 to 17 and free for kids 6 and younger. There are also group rates available.
