The Marion County Clerk’s office is looking into errors involving the county’s warrant system.

Call 6 Investigates has learned Amitav Thama, the Marion County Superior Court Chief Technology Officer, sent an email to criminal and civil judges Thursday afternoon notifying them that warrants were being erroneously marked as “expired.”

Russell Hollis, a spokesperson for the Clerk’s Office, said he is looking into what happened and the potential impact of the problem.

Thama’s email indicated that more than 1,000 warrants have been impacted by the error and that the Clerk’s office has stopped activity regarding expiring warrants.

A spokesperson for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department said their agency was not impacted by the problem in terms of executing warrants, and that the issue lies with the Clerk’s office.

Currently, the state uses Odyssey for managing online court records.

“Nothing is wrong with Odyssey,” Kathryn Dolan, public information officer for State Court Administration said.

“There’s not any application failure with Odyssey.”
