INDIANAPOLIS - Nearly 30,000 Indianapolis Public Schools students will be headed back to class Monday instead of taking a spring break vacation.
IPS will use Monday and Tuesday as snow-makeup days. A spring intercession will begin for most other students on Wednesday. Students who have failed or are in danger of failing standardized tests are required to attend remedial classes.
The following week, March 31 through April 4, is the official IPS spring break.
Other upcoming makeup days for IPS are May 23, June 11 and 12.
Nearby, Carmel Clay and Perry Township schools are opting to extend the length of their school days though the end of the year.
