LINCOLN CITY, Ind. - A 14-year-old Indiana boy battling leukemia is getting support from thousands across the country, including his favorite sports star.
Isaac Gogel, an eighth-grader at Heritage Hills Middle School in Lincoln City, outside of Evansville, was diagnosed on Jan. 12, according to the family's Facebook page .
Since then, he's undergone chemotherapy and lost his hair, but his family is keep his spirits up by soliciting Facebook "likes," cards and care packages.
As of Tuesday morning, Gogel's page had nearly 85,000 likes and thousands had left messages of support.
Gogel also received an autographed picture from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, his favorite sports star.
According to the Facebook page, Gogel will return to the hospital this week for around round of chemo.
Supporters are urged to "like" the family's page and send their messages of support. The family is also raising money for Gogel's care online .
