Overnight tips lead to arrests

FARMERSBURG, Ind. - Police arrested two Terre Haute men Tuesday in connection with a Monday bank robbery in Farmersburg, Ind., officials said.

Police said they received multiple overnight tips from the public after the First Financial Bank was robbed on Monday morning.

Kenneth Shelton, 43, and Ryan Ellinger, 20, were both arrested and preliminarily charged with one count of robbery, officers with the Indiana State Police said.

Police said Shelton went into the bank and demanded money from the teller and Ellinger was the suspected driver of the getaway vehicle.

Shelton was being held in the Sullivan County Jail.
