ISP: Indianapolis woman killed walking along Interstate 65

Betty Rush, 66, pronounced dead at the scene

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. - An Indianapolis woman walking along Interstate 65 was killed after being struck by several vehicles Sunday night.

Police said just after 9 p.m., Betty Rush, 66, of Indianapolis, walked out into the right lane of I-65 near the Demotte/Roselawn exit at mile marker 230.

Rush was hit by a car before she was struck by a tractor-trailer. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jasper County Coroner.

Police said Rush's car as later found at a local truck stop, Indiana State Police said. 

Investigators did not say why Rush was walking along the Interstate.
