Greenwood Community School Corporation needs bus drivers

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- School is in session. Buses run every day. However, in Greenwood, there are two bus routes that do not have a permanent driver. Right now, those routes are driven by a group of four substitutes and occasionally the district’s director of rransportation.

In an effort to make sure all of the district’s 37 bus routes are staffed by a permanent driver, Superintendent Dr. Kent DeKoninck says the district has two immediate openings for drivers. He is hoping to fill those positions as soon as possible.

Requirements:

  • Driver’s License
  • Commercial Driver’s License
  • Indiana Department of Transportation physical
  • Completion of a three-day school put on by the Department of Education’s Transportation Department
  • Completion of a skills test at Greenwood Community School Corporation
  • Shows a love for children and their safety
  • Shows ability to handle discipline issues that arise
