GREENWOOD, Ind. -- If you live in Greenwood, more specifically the Center Grove schools district, local police have a warning for you after another string of car break-ins hits this community over the weekend.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office took five "theft from vehicle" runs on Sunday. These thefts occurred in the area of Fairview and Peterman roads – a highly residential area.  And this isn't the first time thieves have struck nearby.

Over the past week, officers have taken reports in the Wakefield addition which sits along Smith Valley and Morgantown Roads and they have also responded to reports in the Innisbrooke addition, which is at the Fairview and Bluff road area of White River Township.

The sheriff's office is asking you to take in your valuables, and park in your garage if available. They also suggest you keep your eyes open for any suspicious activity and report that activity to local law enforcement.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says it plans to step up patrols in the area.
