Judge denies change of venue for high-profile invasion suspect

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - A judge has rejected a request by a man charged in a high-profile home invasion case in southern Indiana that his trial be moved or that jurors be brought in from another area because of the media attention the case has received.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports Vanderburgh Superior Judge Les Shively rejected the request Friday by Eric Weston Dunn, who is charged with burglary resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement, assisting a criminal and theft.

The reason the case has received so much attention is the victim of the home invasion is an Evansville man accused of ramming his truck into the car of those fleeing his house, killing one and injuring another. Ira Beumer is charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery.
