Knightstown schools lockdown lifted

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. - Schools in Knightstown and southwestern Henry County are no longer on lockdown after school officials say they received a "credible shooter threat."
Officials with the Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation say the threat was directed at schools in general, and not specifically that district.
Parents with students in the district have been notified, according to Interim Superintendent Joe Backmeyer.
"The kids are safe," Backmeyer said. "Classes are going on as normal."
The district said it put schools on lockdown at the recommendation of law enforcement.
