KOKOMO, Ind. - A Kokomo mother has been arrested after her two children were found home alone and confined to separate bedrooms, police said.
Officers were called to the Garden Square Apartments at 800 E. Hoffer St. just after noon Tuesday on a report of two children left alone.
They found a 3-year-old and a 2-month-old alone in separate bedrooms upstairs.
The door of the room where the 3-year-old was found was tied shut with an extension cord, police said.
The children's mother, Linda J. Williams, 32, was found at a local business and arrested on two preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent.
The children were taken into custody by Child Protection Services.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Chad Rodgers at 765-456-7350 or the Kokomo Police Hotline at 765-456-7017.
