4 local HS students hospitalized after crash

INDIANAPOLIS -- Four students with Lawrence Central High School were injured in a crash Wednesday morning on Indianapolis' northeast side.

The crash happened around around 10:30 a.m., near the intersection of 71st Street and Shadeland Avenue. 

In involved a van and a car. Witnesses on the scene said it was a head-on collision.

Lawrence Township officials say one girl and three boys were all taken to the hospital as a result of the crash and that none of them appeared to be seriously injured. 

Two of the students had to be cut out of the car after it collided with the van. 

Officials say the students were traveling between the Center for Innovation Technology and the high school at the time of the crash.

Two men were also in the van. They were also taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be not serious.
