MAXWELL, Ind. - The 19-year-old son of the Fortville clerk-treasurer was killed in a crash with a state highway truck Thursday afternoon, police said.
The crash happened just after noon on State Road 9 and County Road 100 North in Hancock County.
Logan Stafford, son of Fortville Clerk-Treasurer Marcie Stafford, ran a stop sign and drove into the path of an Indiana Department of Transportation truck, police said.
Stafford's car was broadsided on the driver's side. He was pronounced dead at Hancock Regional Hospital.
The driver of the INDOT truck, Myron Matlock, 56, of Knightstown, was not injured.
