ANDERSON, Ind. -- Two drivers involved in a crash and fight caught on video at the Anderson Speedway last weekend have learned their punishment.
During the next to last race of the night on October 14, two drivers confronted one another after a black race car was bumped off the track, then crashed into another.
Jeffery Swinford, the driver of the black car, then drove his vehicle on top of race car No. 33, driven by Shawn Cullen. The drivers both exited their vehicles and began fighting for about 30 seconds until a police officer used a Taser to subdue Cullen.
Both drivers were arrested.

As a result of that fight, Anderson Speedway Management has disqualified Swinford from the event and given him a lifetime suspension from attending or competing in any future event promoted by Action Entertainment, Inc. or Anderson Speedway. Swinford's brother, Mike, who owns the car has also been disqualified and fined all purse monies and all point fund monies for the 2017 season. Mike has also been placed on an indefinite suspension from future events.

"It is clear to Anderson Speedway that the act on the race track by Jeffrey Swinford was an intentional act with the intent of doing bodily harm and severe equipment damage to the car of Shawn Cullen," Anderson Speedway said in a statement. "In the process, he not only severely jeopardized the safety of Mr. Cullen but also that of track officials and potentially, fans."
Cullen was disqualified from the event and suspended from participation for a minimum of two future events for leaving his race car on the track surface.
"Anderson Speedway places its highest priority on the safety of its competitors, officials and fans and this act was in blatant disregard to this principle," the statement read. "We are eternally grateful that no one was injured as a result of the incident."
